We absolutely love that Leonard and Penny were married twice. Once by themselves in Las Vegas, and again in front of friends and family. Besides the drama between Leonard’s family and Sheldon’s mom – the episode was a success. It was also a chance for us to see Penny properly walk down the aisle and finally meet her family! How is it that after ten seasons, we never met her family until then?

Their whole relationship started with Leonard’s infatuation with Penny followed by her appreciation of how loyal, faithful and what a great guy he is. He tested her vision of his faithfulness when he did drunkenly make out with another girl Mandy Chow on his North Sea expedition, though it didn’t mean anything to Mandy. In “The Bow Tie Asymmetry”, when the wedding is delayed due to the absence of the bride and groom, she explodes when she finds Sheldon, Amy and Leonard doing science instead of getting married. In season 11, Leonard and Penny are just happy together and Penny just wants to stay thin and have money rather than get a house and have a baby immediately.

Galecki’s been involved with several women off-screen, but one of his early relationships was with his Big Bang co-star Sara Gilbert, who plays Leslie Winkle – one of Leonard’s on-screen girlfriends. The two dated for a while after meeting on the set of Roseanne, before Gilbert realized she was actually attracted to women. During their relationship, Leonard was once unfaithful to Penny, but he confessed to her and got forgiveness before they finally tied the knot.

She already has his doubts and doesn’t need them confirmed. They are engaged and still have very little in common which scares her. It also scares Leonard, but he still wants to face all their problems together. His reassurance really touches Penny and Amy who would like Sheldon to say things like that. Things seemed to be going well by the end of the episode, with Penny kissing Leonard at his doorstep after their date and at the shooting range. In “The Friendship Contraction”, it was apparent that the two are definitely in a relationship again, though they taking things slow this time around, and the beta test that was still very much going on.
